Maybe you used all your good ideas on the first thing? I'm sure you'll pull through though...right?
Oh, I'll pass. That's never been in question. And a 2:2 isn't that bad, really, I guess. It'll probably be enough to get me onto a postgrad course at my current uni, anyway. But I wanted a 2:1!
I don't understand it. Is 2:1 the top mark? Argh! This is too confusing.
No. A First is the best possible mark. But I was never going to get that, I'm too lazy. Next is Second Class, which is divided into Upper and Lower Second (2:1 and 2:2). Then there's Third, then Pass, then Unclassified. Most people get 2:1.
Oh, okay. *glad to understand that* Still, 2:2's really good. Better than what I'd get at least. Can't you protest against marks or something?
Only if you can prove you were ill, or otherwise impaired, while you were doing the work.
At least you get lots of food?

I don't really understand what that means... but don't be sad!

::hugs in sympathy::
I feel for you, sweetie, seriously, but I'll spare you the 'jaws scar comparison scene recast as examination marks' spiel.
Obviously the dissertation mark was disappointing, but did you get feedback and stuff? I know it's probably painful, and stuff, but if you at least get a rational explanation of why it was marked low, then you can build on the good stuff etc etc. a 2.1 might be hard, but it's probably not impossible... are your finals weighted more than the Part Is (are you on a four year course with a year abroad?).
Certainly, at our place (and you know where I work), the Finals make a higher contribution to the overall classification. I think it's normally 40% Part Is, 60% Finals. So there's still a lot to play for in your final year.
