How is it that James Marsters appears to know more about how Buffy will end than Sarah Michelle Gellar does? Or is he just winding us all up?

SFX. *goes to fetch magazine for exact quote*

Sarah: Like everyone else, Gellar doesn't know what the final scene will be. "All I can say is that I really hope I have the last line". [From earlier in the same article:] "I would love to come back", she says, "assuming, of course, that they don't kill Buffy".

Now, either she's being coy, or she genuinely doesn't know if Buffy lives or dies. And, obviously, she doesn't yet have the script for the last ep.

But this is what James Marsters has to say:

"And now, for the first time on the show, I know what's going to happen, and so I'm in dangerous water right now! I don't know everything about the end of the season, but what we're going to do is going to be highly romantic and highly painful, highly dramatic. A lot of love. And I think that it's going to piss a lot of people off".

Sounds to me like he knows more about what's going to happen than she does. But maybe that's just a false impression created entirely by those two quotes...
