| A plug for a friend's band
||[Mar. 6th, 2003|02:37 pm]
I went to see my friend Nick's band play last night (again. It seems to be my principal social activity, these days), and they have Very Exciting News. They're releasing a single at the end of the month! A proper single, in high street shops and everything! Distributed by Universal!
So all of you who are in Britain have to buy it. The band's called Moonface, and the single's out on March 30. I've adored this band to the point of fanaticism since I first saw them live, aged nineteen, in a cupboard masquerading as a club in Soho. They're well worth two or three pounds of anybody's money, even if you only buy it to help get them in the charts and make me happy.
I know so many people who are going to be famous. Charlie'll make it because he's at Lamda, and because he knows half the British theatre establishment, and British Sea Power are well on the way, and Moonface are releasing a single, and we've decided that Nearly Welsh Chris is going to be the next Peter Sellers (although hopefully Becca's prediction that he'll end up destroying himself just like Sellers did won't come true)...
I have such talented friends.

Eh, I could always download it off Kazaa and be a Very Bad Consumer.
You have such cool friends. Mine just read manga and draw anime pictures.
Wow you do have talented friends! I promise to look out for the single when it comes out. If I do find it, that'll be the first single I've bought in... about 3 years. Eeek. Remind me nearer the time though.
The closest I come to knowing any really talented people was going to school with a girl who turned up on Popstars he Rivals. Hopefully one or another of my friends will become a famous politician or writer, but I can't really see it happening at the moment.
Hmm, I would buy it save for one small problem. I don't live in Britian...
Oh well, I'll download then plug! Perfect!
