I was just leaving one of the hospital buildings and there was a family outside with an adorable little girl, not more than two or three. So I smiled at her, like you do, and the parents said something to her in their own language, didn't recognise it... and she comes toddling over to me with her hand out and shakes hands.

Cutest. Thing. Ever. My ovaries go 'splode, and I don't even want biological kids.

*day is made*

One of my neighbor's grandson's did that to me once: we were talking to them as we both met up in the parking lot, about to leave, and the youngest took a long look at me, toddled over and flung his arms around my legs while staring up at me, giving me a brilliant smile. And did not let go 'till they gently tugged him away so they could leave! Makes a day indeed, it does. =) (So is hearing "Wow, that's unusual. He's really shy usually with people he doesn't know!")

I saw my baby I helped birth yesterday and he comes up all solemn (well, as solemn as a 2yr old can be ;)) and holds his hand out for me to shake. So I did, then gave him a big hug and kiss. Because 2yr olds shaking hands is adorable, but kinda weird too!

yay babies being cute and not smelly or wet!
