innerbrat assigned me:
angels and visitations
This is a collection of short stories by Neil Gaiman. It contains some of the same stories as Smoke and Mirrors, but also some that aren't in that. It's no longer in print in this country or possibly at all - I had to go to great lengths to get a copy, involving ordering it from a publishing house in Minnesota with my father's credit card (I was 16).
bedrooms and hallways
The gayest movie ever, in the most literal sense (except for the part where the lead male character gets semi-converted by a woman). It includes Tom Hollander having obscene things done to his nipples by Hugo Weaving. And gay swimming pool sex. How can you pass that up?
cigarettes and chocolate milk
My favourite Rufus Wainwright song.
complainte de la butte
My second favourite Rufus Wainwright song. That's all.
Ah, that takes me back. I'd forgotten that was still on there, in fact. Basically, it's expressing an appreciation of pretty boys wearing glitter and as little as possible besides, spawned by my first watching of Velvet Goldmine.
Moonface were a rock band I knew at university that I'm fairly sure no longer exists. I was in halls with the drummer and had an enormous crush on him for the better part of four years. And they were just damn good.
the arcata eye
For this, I provide a link. Small-town American newspaper with an amusing police log column. I used to read it obsessively. http://www.arcataeye.com/index.php?module=pagesetter&tid=2&topic=7
