*SHRIEKS IN RAGE*
The Walker. Gets. A love interest. And and and they took out the Arthurian themes and they're turning it into an Indiana Jones movie and they gave Merriman a freaking mace and Miss Greythorne a sword cane and Ian McShane blatantly hates the source material, the movie and the filming process and is only doing it so he'll have done something he can show his grandkids and I will never stop shrieking about this ever.
What are they doing to my books?
ETA, from Wikipedia: Stanton travels back and forth in time in search of clues, accompanied by his rebellious older brother (Gregory Smith). WHAT. WHAT. NO. I don't care which older brother it is, I just, NO.
*breathes* And now, a meme.
Name a character and I'll tell you three (or more) facts about them from my own personal pseudo-canon. Y'all know which characters I gravitate to.
and I thought it couldn't get any worse.
FUCKING BITE ME, REVIEWER.
From link: ...there wasn’t a moment that I could recognize from The Dark Is Rising the book… but there was a ton of moments that looked like they could sell an audience on an exciting fantasy movie.
This is my worst book nightmare, I think. I don't think I can even watch that movie without having some kind of breakdown. Just... going to curl into a ball with the books instead and pretend that it never, ever happened. :(
I'm going for the meme, since the other is just too blargh. ;)
Name three facts about XP Angelo?
a very different take on Merriman (in the books he’s essentially Merlin; screenwriter John Hodge told me they dropped all the Arthurian stuff from the film)
*points* That is the exact point when I declared this movie dead to me. Not the Americanization, not Miss Greythorne having a sword cane, not the Walker having a love interest. That.
My one consolation is that maybe this means they won't make any other movies, considering how the books get more and more Arthurian as you go along. (Maybe. Hopefully? Let me have my one consolation. >.>)
I DON'T CARE ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE IF THE REBELLIOUS OLDER BROTHER IS JAMES I WILL HAVE TO SEE IT ANYWAYS
FOR THE LULZ
. . . *cough* Anyways. Meme: Galadriel!
