He did sound mightily concerned and mystified. Poor man.
It's uncharitable of me to guess trollish motives, but when I read that my first thought was just one long ohgodpleaseno - although with no bigass organised fandom out there to get into trouble, I guess there's a limit to the harm that could be done.
There is? Oooohh, where?
Anyway, whoever told him is lucky I can't reach them to throttle them with my bare hands.
There's very mild Gaiman/Pratchett UST buried in the CrowleysAngels archive, or used to be.
But I am thinking the person just asked "How would you feel about this?" not "How DO you feel about the existence of this?"
BUT ARGH STUPID DIE!
Well, I hope he doesn't flip out. Always seemed a really open minded guy, but you enver know.
I doubt he'll flip out, but I don't blame him for being reeeeally uncomfortable. It's rather assholeish of fans to point these things out to celebrities, and not just assholeish to the rest of the fannish community.
I wouldn't bet that the person was a slasher, though. Most slashers tend to be more tactful.
Poor guy. Feel for him, but...
where's the CrowleysAngels archive?? *wants to find this*
It's a Yahoo!Groups mailing list, primarily dedicated to Crowley/Aziraphale, but with the occasional other pairing. I think the G/P was a round robin.
It's a mildly scary list, however.
(Going to go dislike RPS about non-dead people for a while now.)
Ah. hmm. is there good fic on that list I can search for?
, and mercuriosity
have all written some really good fic. afrai's website is here
(I share the site with her, but my half desperately needs a redesign, and I apparently cannot spell 'reccomendations,' so don't look at it, please), Shati and Carina have theirs linked, and Daegaer's is all in her LJ memories. afrai's recs page is also a good place to look. And of course there's flambeau
's perennial fic.
It's very...fangirly. Very anime/manga fangirly. Good Omens is not an manga. I find a lot of the fanon really gets on my nerves. Now I just read the people I know are good and ignore the list.
Also, Zort wrote a few GO snippets on her fic lj: gilascave
. Just scan backwards through the entry titles or lj-cut text :)
Oh yeah, the penguins. I forgot about those, possibly because she doesn't really blip on my radar as being very involved in GO fandom. I loved the penguins.
*giggles* yeah. Loved the penguins.
Ahem. I even wrote her a C/A snippet in the comments. Without having read the book yet. *G*
Oh, and did you read the one she wrote about them being stuck on an island?
Oh, and an angsty one here
and also one here
and Zort?? She majorly rocks in *any* fandom! ;)
I have no objection to RPS on principle (that would be hypocritical). But there are some things you just don't do. Forcibly bringing it to the subject's attention is one of them.
I don't object to RPS on principle, but unless the subjects are very, very dead, it tends to make me uncomfortable. This may have something to do with my first (and very much regretted) boyfriend writing bad porn about us with the aid of his friend I'd never met. >.< It did not predispose me to be fond of RPF that the subjects can see.
If they're dead a few centuries, eh, not so much an issue with me since they're probably already fictionalized in the media anyway.
Forcibly bringing it to the subject's attention is one of them.
Exactly. I'm not terribly fond of bringing slash or even fanfiction in general to the attention of most people connected with canon, but most seem to take it okay, and that's not quite so bad. Unless it's like the Merry/Pippin photomanip incident, which I except would be distressing at the least to the actors.
poor laddo sounded scared.
where do i read this stuff anyway?
When did this occur?
More to the point, WHO SENT HIM THE FUCKING LINK?
*stabstab* This is why academics studying slash who are not slashers first make me very nervous.
Facepalm! Clearly, whoever provided that link had there brains link out of their ears.
Poor poor guy...
It's a small fear of mine that if I ever become that actor I want to be, I'll have this sort of thing happening to me. And that I won't be able to stop myself from going in and correcting certain *ahem* things.
