Richard Mayhew was a respectable man.

He'd worked in Securities all his life, at one of the best Investment Analysis firms in London, through promotion after promotion.

He'd married the girl from Computer Services, and had three lovely children, who had their own kids. He was still friends with Garry, and their respective grandchildren played together on Sundays.

He still occasionally ran into Jessica, who had married well, and they exchanged pleasantries.

Finally, he retired, took his gold watch, and went to live quietly in anonymity.

And he remembered another life he might once have had... only as a dream.
